Joe Rogan Says CM Punk In UFC Is Ridiculous

During his popular podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Joe Rogan spoke to former UFC Champion Bas Rutten about CM Punk’s awaited debut in UFC.  His advice for CM Punk being “Take a fight in a small organization, build yourself up. I have always said that’s what should have happened with Brock Lesnar.”

Lesnar grew to be a huge pay-per-view draw for the UFC, but the comparison between Lesnar and CM Punk ends there. Lesnar had high level amateur  wrestling skills heading into MMA.

Rogan has always supported the meritocracy of MMA. He spoke critically of Bellator’s recent fight between Kimbo Slice and DaDa 5000, calling it “the worst fight ever.”

CM Punk’s debut against Mickey Gall has no set date due to CM Punk’s back surgery, Rogan spoke to this when he said, “I don’t know what’s going to happen with that guy. I don’t understand this whole thing.”

The dates discussed so far for CM Punk’s debut are UFC 199 or UFC 200. Both are far enough away, CM Punk will be recovered from surgery in time. UFC 200 is July 9th, but UFC 199 has no date yet.
